I've been trying some distros out over the past week.
tried out:
openSUSE,PCLinuxOS,Mandriva,Linux Mint.
I gotta say.Linux Mint "an ubuntu based OS" is great!.
easy install much like ubuntu.few questions, you're done.
After Install, It was pretty much ready to go.if anyone has ever used ubuntu, and liked it,give linux mint a whirl.
(extra 100fps in UT04 over windows

.)
on another note.PCLinuxOS:great OS as well, only problem is didn't seem to like games to well.."can't have that" as far as a web machine,it was by far the easiest.
SUSE,Mandriva wasn't really feeling them..Suse just felt clumsy to get around, and Mandriva well.?.?. 4 disk of shit I don't need, and alot of questions during install.gave up on it quick..installation is everything.
one last thing.wine:"a windows emulator for linux" has a plugin/update "wine-doors" <---hahaha,that allows standard installs of most windows programs."installs exactly as they do on windows"
